We were visiting from FL and stopped in for lunch. I don’t usually write reviews. The pizza was awesome and our server Jackie went above and beyond with service, friendliness, and thinking ahead. We would definitely come back and highly recommend. Ask for Jackie.

This was my second time visiting (traveling from North Florida)i believe first time was 2021. Anyhow, was staying approximately 45 minutes North of Asheville, and was visiting a few local attractions in Asheville, wanted to get something for dinner locally, and came across Packs Tavern. Not knowing the area very well, I remembered it being very good. Thankfully this visit was not as busy as last time (no fault to restaurant, last time I came it was a holiday weekend, or memorial day weekend or big football weekend, and party of three). But this time was myself and significant other, and we were seated right away... The service was extremely excellent, and food tasted as great as i could remember! I wanted to try a little bit of everything, however I went Prime Rib Dip Sub (sandwich). Also ordered Tavern Pretzels & Beer Cheese as appetizer (for splitting), and Firehouse Bison Chili (soup) for myself. Everything turned out delicious, and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming (clean and spacious). I very much recommended trying if in Asheville area! The prices are reasonable and portions are very nice and filing. (Prices vary on menu item selected) Thank you all at Packs Tavern for another wonderful visit, and hope to visit again soon!

A Must Stop! Our month-long roadtrip from Ohio to Nashville, Sandestin, Sarasota, Plant City, Ocala, St. Augustine, Charleston, Alpharetta, GA, Asheville then Charlotte, NC provided many opportunities to experience great food and service and boy, did we! A clear winner was our lunch stop at Pack’s Tavern on Thursday, February 12, 2026. After working up a great appetite after traipsing around the shops and galleries of Asheville, we settled on Pack’s at the recommendation of a clerk at the General Mercantile store nearby. We were not disappointed. A great atmosphere supported by the tavern look and architecture, quick to be seated at the heart of lunch hour, and great service provided by Jackie V who I eventually learned is Giaocchino Vanerelli, a paisan, making it even better. He showed us great attention and care...presenting the menu which has so many options, providing some insight into his favorites, the drink options and their local beers, and simply caring for us was terrific. One of the best along our long journey! We highly recommend Pack’s Tavern should you want the best experience and fantastic food! We’ll go back!

Me and my wife stopped in for some lunch while visiting Asheville, NC, we were seated as soon as we got there. Our waitress quickly arrived and took our drink and appetizer order. I think with in 5 minutes of ordering the appetizers came out and about 7-10 minutes after that our food came. Everything was excellent and tasty. The atmosphere was great and the waitress was very attentive to our needs. If you're ever in the area I recommend that you stop in for a meal and a drink, I recommend the elite dip for your appetizer.

I was visiting Asheville solo for a wedding and after a long travel day, wanted somewhere good to eat. I researched the best places in the area, and decided on Pack's Tavern. Wow, wow, wow—so glad I picked this place! I ordered the fried green tomatoes and brisket mac and cheese. Both were phenomenal! The place has a cool history, too. Bummed to be living 8+ hours away, otherwise this would become a regular spot! YUM!

We visited on a Thursday evening, off season. We were able to park in the lot out back ( free after 5pm on week days). We were greeted and seated promplty, despite several large parties. Although the wait staff were busy, they were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious- they have a in- house made hot sauce! There are alot of drink options ( beer, wine, cocktails, zero proof, mocktails, non- alcoholic beverages). One gotta love/ appreciate an repurposed old building.

Stopped here for lunch with a large group of friends. I ordered the Brisket and Mac and Cheese which was very good! The order was taken very quickly and the service was great. We had no issues getting in and being seated for the noon hour. We walked a short distance from our hotel. Very neatly decorated and clean throughout. Would eat here again!

We want to give a huge thank you to Cassidy, Christopher, and the entire Pack’s Tavern team for making our day unforgettable. We had our wedding reception at the Century Room in Pack's Tavern. From our first visit we immediately fell in love with the style and atmosphere of the space. Cassidy and Christopher were incredibly kind and helpful throughout entire the planning process, answering every question, providing clear details, and keeping us on track with important reminders. On the day of the event, Cassidy and Christopher had everything perfectly prepared, and their staff was welcoming and attentive. We chose to serve the food family style and we absolutely loved it; it was such a great way for our guests to mingle with each other. The food was delicious, so many guests raved about the food and the service. A few guests even said they loved it so much they can’t wait to throw their own party there. Thank you to Pack's Tavern for helping making our day so memorable! It was a busy place, and there were no reservations available beforehand, so we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. The restaurant has a cozy brick-and-wood interior with a charming old tavern vibe. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous, so you’ll definitely leave satisfied. Prices were reasonable, around $20–30 per entrée. We ordered sandwiches and steak, and everything was delicious. There was plenty of seating both outdoors and on the second floor, making it a great option even for larger groups.
